Spring Concord Session Minutes

Spring Concord Session Minutes

Filed Under: Vernal Record No. 342-A
Held: March 23, 2025 – Rawley Chamber, Point Beach Periphery
Recorder: C.A., Custodian of Minutes (interim)

I. Opening of the Session

The Session was convened at 10:02 a.m. Central Time, marked by a single chime of the brass bell acquired during the Low Visibility Accord of 1997. Formal seating was observed, and the Ledger was opened to Ledger Point XIX.

II. Review of Membership Candidacy: S.G.C.

The Assembly received final reports regarding the candidacy of S.G.C., whose decade-long consideration concluded with resounding, if quietly voiced, approval.
S.G.C., known for her work in subaqueous structural anomaly mapping and uncredentialed cartographic reconciliation, has shown symbolic alignment across multiple Concord metrics. Her silence during previous Retreats was cited as “commendable” and her failure to self-promote considered “encouragingly archaic.”

Motion: That the Hollow Compass Rite be initiated at the earliest convenience.
Status: Approved

III. Presentation: “On the Icy Cones of the Inland Sea”

Alistar Corvus, acting Primarch and Seated Warden of the Ledger, delivered a 94-minute illustrated discourse on the seasonal formation and symbolic resonance of ice volcanoes observed along the western shores of Lake Michigan.

Corvus explained that ice volcanoes are naturally occurring winter features formed when sub-zero temperatures and shoreline wave action cause water to freeze and re-freeze into hollow mounds along the lake ice shelf. When pressure builds beneath these cones, wave action can force water and slush to erupt through their centers, producing geyser-like plumes—often mistaken for mechanical discharges by the uninformed.

The presentation included historical photographs, comparative satellite imagery, and three speculative overlays aligning known ice volcano sites with past Hollow Compass field readings. While no causality was claimed, the correlations were noted “with interest.”

IV. Upcoming Field Operation: S.S. Badger

Plans were reviewed for voyage aboard the S.S. Badger, departing from Manitowoc with intent to investigate the rumored installation of a Hollow Compass prototype within or near the vessel's original helm assembly.
Caution was advised regarding past crew skepticism, and it was reiterated that any member found wearing visible Order insignia onboard would be given a mark of shame

V. Correspondence and Infrastructure

Discussion turned to the pending launch of the public-facing informational website, designed to offer minimal transparency and selective legitimacy.
Visual assets were reviewed and approved, with some debate over whether to include the Rawley Seal watermark on the footer or reserve it for Initiate Access Pages.

Motion: That the Order maintain aesthetic fidelity, 1960–1973 era.
Status: Unanimous assent (with one abstention for aesthetic neutrality).

VI. Closing Matters

A brief ceremony was conducted for the rededication of the Ledger Cabinet (recently repaired following an accidental drawer collapse during the January thaw).
The Session was adjourned at 2:46 p.m., with a standing note of gratitude extended to Member T.L. for the provision of elderberry cordial and topographical napkins.
